    BABY IT'S COLD(ER) OUTSIDE

    So.

Right now, it's 2:30 in the afternoon and it's only 65ºF outside. SUU-weeeet! The windows are open, the ceiling fan is going and most importantly...the AC is off! Halleujia!

When I went downstairs this morning to go food shopping, it was just the most beautiful day. Not quite crispy* yet, but close. The fallen oak leaves looked like they had been placed by hand it was so perfect. Of, course it only lasted about 10 minutes, since the gardeners are here today.

Have you ever seen the movie The Red Shoes? OHMIGOD it is SO GOOD. It's beautifully made, the technicolor is a-m-a-z-i-n-g, the dancing is fantastic, the cinematography is stunning. All this on top of a suitably tragic love triangle that leaves you wanting more. I cannot say enough good things (obviously) so consult your local video store. Sadly it's only out on VHS and Criterion DVD, the latter of which I have added to my Amazon Wish List.

Along those lines, I have officially begun Christmas Shopping. Really, I only got one thing for one person, but it's a start, right? I basically know what to get, I just have to flesh everything out a bit. And then actually get it. Hints and suggestions are quite welcome. Buon Natale!

*crisp'•y adj. 1. Those perfect fall days when the humidity is so low and the temperature is in accordance that the air has a snap to it, and there is often a faint scent of burning leaves; more prevalent in the north, but occuring at least twice a year in the south if we've been reallly good that year.
