    GEARING UP.

    Well, it lookin' like it's gonna be a right busy fall. (Why am I talkin' lika mount'n man? Don't no.)

    I got a call for entries from SCAD today for the Small Works show which is a great incentive to get some more embroideries done. I was already plannning to fill up the Etsy shop for the holidays, but this is even better. I can charge SCAD WAY more than I would charge Etsy with a totally clean concience. I have 'em all lined up, I just need to get sewing. They want as many pieces as possible from a single artist ("a small body of work is encouraged"), so I'm gonna send pics of 'em all. Maybe they'll bite, maybe not, but at least I'll have tried.

    The halloween stuff is going quite well and I am getting very excited. Except for the lack of Overhead Projector. Arrgh.

    My Mom and my little sis will be here on the 29th of this month. Again, very excited. I'm hoping for much shoe and attire shopping, a movie or two, and some good eats and times with my women. Then Trav and Duane get here right after that, then a wee break, then we go to Columbia! Whew!!

    Then, when we return, more active job hunting. Not that I haven't been looking, but there just hasn't been anything out there. Unless I know CAD. Which I don't. Which burns me to the center of my soul. But that's another story for another day. A position for a project architect is open with a theme-oriented firm, but the requirements are crazy: you must speak Italian, Spanish, and English, have at least 10 years experience (including some international) and must be willing to travel 75% of the year. Sheesh.

    That ice cream cake decorator position is looking better and better everyday...oh well, I'm off to sew!

    P.S- Don't forget to Talk Like a Pirate on Monday! Arrrrrrrrrr, maties!

    Actually it was a card in the mail. Here's the info:

    It doesn't say when the show is exactly, just during the holiday season in both Savannah and Atlanta;

    2-or-3 dimensional pieces accepted, no limit on the number of entries an artist may submit, as a small body of work is encouraged;

    Slides with: title, date, medium, dimensions (under 18" or less in all directions, including frame), and artist's price ($250 or less, all work must be for sale) or a CD with high resolution images (min. 300dpi) with the same info.

    Resume with: mailing address, email address, phone number, exhibition history (seperated into group and solo shows), awards and honors.

    Artists will be notified within 2 weeks following submission and all submissions must be made by Oct 27, 2005.

    Submissions can be mailed or hand-delievered to:

    Attn: Small Works
    Red Gallery
    201 E. Broughton Street
    P.O. Box 3146
    Savannah, GA 31402
