Random Thought #1: I digitized my mix cd library and can I just say how cool it is to be able to get to it again. It had been packed away. Now, so convienient. I'm suprised how some of the older ones still interest me.
Random Thought #2: This is SO COOL, and so convienient for HTML, and is bound to become an obsession. This page alone just blows my mind. (watch that last link, it may acutally EAT your computer...) What a great jumping off point.
Random Thought #3: We did phase one of the grand 'Reduce our Crap' project by cleaning out the storage unit yesterday morning. Why did we save all that crap? Really.
Random Thought #4: Whilst throwing an entire carload (as in stuffed to the gills) of crap into the dumpster, I picked this out of the garbage first. (Yes, I'm one of those people.) I think it will work well for Halloween, I'm going to hang all those little skeleton hands on it, maybe add some more 'bone' beads like a chandelier. Haven't decided weather or not to re-electrify it yet. Sidenote: Yes, I know I'm supposed to be getting RID of stuff, but it was just too funky to pass up. And it was free!
Random Thought #5: In our vacation bliss, we TOTALLY forgot to celebrate Bastille Day. Dammit. I think my subconscious was trying to tell me though, because I had a massive hankering for french food all day that day.
Random Thought #6: Took yesterday off to read the new Potter book, which I should not have bought, but whatever. (I'm weak, lets leave it at that.) Anyway, it was extremely good (as per usual), all creepy and dark and gory and shit. Awesome. Taking a day to do nothing except read a new book was fantastic. It's what summer was meant for. I need to get a damn library card already. I've read all my books like 87 times now.
Random Thought #7: All the new stuff for fall is coming out ALL OVER THE DAMN PLACE, and I am having a hard time holding myself back. Must.Buy.Clothing.NOW. And shoes, and jewelry, and bags, and I think I need an entire new set of dishes...and there are some really great new table linens at Crate and Barrel. If I can make it through all the September fashion mags (including the glorious 50lb Vogue), not read the new Domino, and simply avoid going into any retail establishments until mid September, I should be okay. I SHOULD be. Right?

i'm feeling you on the new clothes thing. my wardrobe is so out of date and sad.... and i think we all hold on to all this stuff cuz we're artists baby
i hold onto the shit because i'm poor mostly... i'm wearing all the same shit i've been wearing for like 3 or 4 years now just because i can't really afford to throw stuff out.
p.s. i also found a chandelier in a dumpster like 3 years ago and it ended up taking up space in various places for the entire 3 years until i finally put it into another dumpster because i obviously wasn't really going to do anything with it except dust it occasionally...
No, see for me, the chandelier goes under the 'holiday decorations' category, which I NEVER throw away.
I have a really hard time throwing or even giving clothes away, 'cause I attach memories to them.
But my BIGGEST problem is the fact that I was allowed to clean out family attics when I was very little, and I always think, "It was SO COOL to find all that old stuff, wouldn't it be cool if someone else were to find all my old stuff, too?" Or something.
