I just now saw the newest incarnation of the food pyramid. Could it BE any more confusing? I mean really. See the point at the top, where there is nothing but a white space? What does this represent? And why is that quasi-human jauntily stepping towards it? Does this mean we should all strive toward eating nothing, as long as we strive jauntily? The animations and interactive pages don't really help all that much either. Sigh.
I do feel that we could all use some help in the nutrition department, but it seems a little vague to me.

Okay. I just played with the site some more. While I maintain my indifference towards the new design, the mypyramid tracker stuff is pretty cool. I like that you can log in repeatadly to track your food intake problems. No, wait, I mean "opportunities for inprovement". You put in what you ate today, fill in your age and physcial activity (um, yeah, right) and it tells you what you need to eat and stay away from. USING EMOTICONS.
Sweet. Happy face means: good job, your chance of dying from massive heart failure at 33 is slightly less than it would be if you had eaten those chicken fingers. Sad face means: LAY OFF THE BROWNIES LARD-O.
See? Easy.
