So here I am in Atlanta, in the suburb of Mulletville, er, I mean Morrow, Georgia. It's very odd here. Everyone seems rather suprised that all of these stores and restaurants are here in their area. It's strange.
People are very nice, but no one uses their blinker. We were almost in an accident in Buckhead the other day, which I am not suprised at either.
The highlight of my day thus far (since I drove B to the restaurant, so that I could mail some stuff- Rachel and Stacy, look for the red envelope full of tunes comin' your way) was when I decided to hit Hobby Lobby, since I hadn't been in one for quite some time. It was choice. I got all of the stuff for Halloween, and it was especially fun to check out, what with the religious music playing on the radio, the 'We are closed on Sunday so our employees may worship with their families' (!) sign on the door and me (dressed in low-rise jeans and a long sleeved black t-shirt, carrying a black leather wallet) trying to purchase a cart full of black feathers, red glass vases, stuffed crows, a length of red satin, and a boatload of red pillar candles. I think they thought I was going to start worshipping satan right there next to the checkout. Ha!
Other than that, I went to Target (yes, again) and it was also very strange, because all of the shelves were STOCKED. It was like no one have ever shopped there before. Weird. I got a cool candelabra for Halloween there, too.
Oh, and can I just say, I bought 2 incandescent lamps (1 of which I planned on returning before we left, but B took the wrapping off before I could stop him so I have to keep it now) because our hotel room has all the charm of a prison cell. Do you know what 5 fluorescent lights in a 100 sqft room can do to a person!?!?!? Come on people! I'm going to be there 8hrs a day for the next 4 days! And it smelled like a hospital, which doesn't exactly relax a person, so I got a travel candle at Bath and Body Works. So sue me.
I'm still not sold on this place. It just seems so congested, no matter where you go. It seems to be a place of extremes, it's either Mulletville or Buckhead. I wish I could find a place that inbetween.
B is incredibly bored, since they do about half the guest count that Savannah does. He was out last night by 11:30! On a close shift! On a Thursday! Goodness!
Tomorrow I'll be staying in the room, but I think we'll be able to drive around some more on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, even though it's supposed to rain. Here's hoping everything turns out for the best.
