It's finally raining. I am surprisingly overjoyed at this.
I stood at the office window to watch for a bit. I watched the palms finally dancing in the raindrops, thoroughly parched by my lazy watering schedule by now and desperate for a drink.
I love how the water makes the contrast on everything rise just a little. Everything looks like it normally does, just a little more vivid now. A little brighter. A little more alive.
Then I went to the kitchen window to watch the water fall on the herb pots by the front door. The river running down the hill to the street drain was absolutely yellow with pollen. Hopefully this helps B's newfound allergies.
Just a short burst of water, it lasted all of about 5 minutes. Just enough. The sun is already back out and now it makes the drops on the patio chairs and palms sparkle like little crystals.
Nothing like a rain shower to really make it springtime.
