WARNING: RANT AHEAD

Have you watched national nightly news lately? Specifically ABC.

We were at the parentals last night (eating their hot wings and drinking their beer, both of which were mighty tasty) and the news was on during dinner.

Just to start the news off on a happy, cheerful note, the first story was about Baby Euthanasia.

WHAT!?!?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Please, someone tell me what purpose this freakin' serves!?! (dramadramadramadramadramadrama) Is there an outbreak of people killing babies? Please, ABC, scare me and tell me why I should be worried for babies everywhere, then soothe me with a knowing nod and a sad shake of your head Mr. Announcer-guy. (dramadramadramadramadramadrama)

Apparently, good ole' Norway just approved euthanasia for infants suffering from terminal (TERMINAL) diseases. OMIGOD, does this mean that the US is immediately going to approve this here, too? This must be stopped. Something like 90% of the doctors there will not do the procedure, even when asked by the parents to do so. I guess the fact that anyone would have even the OPTION to do this really must of pissed the news director at ABC off. Big time.

Thank you for sharing, but guess what! We are not actually in Norway. (Norway, with their crazy legalized pot and open prostitution! It's ARMAGGEDON over there!) But, guess what! We're in (repeat after me) the United States. Yeah, a whole different continent even! If you don't like it, DON'T MOVE TO NORWAY. Simple as that. Yes, it's quite sad, and yes (and most importantly to ABC) it's quite controversial, but seriously. Is this what the TV news media has sunken to? Is there NOTHING else important in and/or about this country to talk about?

Oh, but wait, apparently there is. The second story was about a 'growing trend' of women owning and running their own farms (lesbians). They even sent a woman reporter (certainly NOT a lesbian, as she had makeup on) in her very own denim jacket (just to show that she is one of the 'common' people). They also made mention many times that these women farmers (lesbians) love organic farming (dirty hippy lesbians) and seem to do quite well at the local farmers markets (granola lesbians). They even interviewed a few of these new farmers (lesbians) who mentioned that their down-to-earth (earth mother lesbian) approach towards age-old sowing and harvesting techniques, and eschewing the common pesticides are making for a better place for us all to live.

So let me get this straight: a woman has never set foot on a farm EVER in the ENTIRE HISTORY OF THE WORLD. And if one has she was obviously a lesbian. WHAT?!?!?!

Harumph.
