    O TANENBAUM, O TANENBAUM

For the past 3 (maybe 4?) years, we haven't had a Christmas tree. We usually came to Orlando for the holidays anyway (and B's birfday), so I couldn't see forking over $40 for a tree that we weren't even going to get to enjoy all that much anyway. Add to that the fact that I put a big damn leather chair in the spot where the tree normally went and it all added up to no Christmas tree in Skevannah.

But not so this year. Oh, no. I decided last year (after cleaning out Tar-jay of almost all of their choice vintage ornaments when they were like 90% off the day after Christmas) that we could not go another year without one, so we put up the $15 this year for a little fake tree.

    Behold, the wonder of it:

Yea! A Christmas tree. It's so sparkly and pretty and I love it. B actually got out of bed last night to turn the lights back on and look at it.

Of course, there are other decorations in the house, but they don't involve electricity, so they're not nearly as fun.

I may have been a little too excited. Excited enough to do and iPhoto slide show...

I heard that little ditty on Sirius when we were decorating on Sunday. It's Duke Ellington.
